40 Days of Praying

For Churches

The church is made up of sinners who have been convicted of their sins, rescued, born again, and are in the process of being renewed. These are the people God enlists into His army. And as the church, we all serve faithfully, side by side, as we together wait for our Commander and King, Jesus Christ, to return and to establish His perfect kingdom on earth.

The church is an outpost of heaven, which has established a beachhead here on earth. And we Christians are called to be active in this “household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth” (1 Tim. 3:15). The stronger and healthier our churches are, the stronger and healthier our nation will be.

America has been blessed by Bible-believing churches since her inception. This has made her great. And if we want our nation to be strong, then we need to pray for—and be a part of—Christ’s body on earth, that unstoppable force: the church.

A Prayer for America

Heavenly Father, You have enlisted me into the kingdom and army of Your Son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that while I was Your enemy, fighting against You, You died for me. You have made me a part of Your heavenly army—the church. And You have called the church to wage spiritual warfare against spiritual enemies. Help us to be an outpost of heaven, here on earth. As the church, we wait for and long for Your glorious return when You will vanquish evil and usher in perfect righteousness. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. In Your name I pray. Amen.

He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
