40 Days of Praying

For Education

If you are a teacher, thank you for your hard work and willingness to serve the Lord in our education system. You have an opportunity to influence the next generation. Ask God to show you how you can plant seeds of truth that will blossom in your students’ lives.

If you are a high school or college student, then you are in an exciting time of learning and of maturing into a successful adult. If you have godly parents, remember what they taught you. If you don’t, then learn and memorize God’s Word for yourself. Get involved in a Bible-believing church, and make friends with fellow Christians. Do your best in school as an act of worship to God. Respect your teachers, but realize that some of them may not be friendly to godly values or God’s truth. Use the time to develop your own critical thinking.

And all of us need to pray that parents in America take seriously the responsibility of training their children in wisdom and godliness. Pray for reform in American universities. Educating our nation’s children is work, but it will yield lasting rewards and will help ensure a lasting legacy for future generations.

A Prayer for America

Heavenly Father, You are the perfect Parent who teaches us. Help us to train our nation’s children well. You created our brains, and You created us to learn. Help us lead our children in the way that they should go. Give us patience and persistence. Help us to train them according to their own unique bent. Show us how to reform America’s broken education system. Fill us with Your Spirit and with a hunger for learning. May we do this all for Your glory, Lord Jesus. In Your name we pray. Amen.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,

but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
