40 Days of Praying

For Evangelism

By November 3, 2020No Comments

The Great Commission is not yet complete. There are still people on this planet who have not heard the gospel. But we are getting close. With today’s technology, Christians could reach all nations within our generation. But we have no idea how long God will allow this window to remain open.

God never intended for evangelism to be confined to paid professionals. Instead, He wants every Christian to be in the game. Why? The majority of non-Christians will never go to church. That is why the primary strategy for spreading the gospel is not “come and hear” but “go and tell.” If we are serious about being salt and light in this world, then every Christian must take the gospel into our neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and relationships. Believers across America are called to be faithful, wherever God has placed us, to make disciples of all nations.

Ask God to give you opportunities to share the gospel. Ask Him to give you the words to say, and then trust Him with the results. And pray that God would open more doors across our nation, so Christians can continue to share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.

A Prayer for America

Heavenly Father, like the believers who came before us, help Christians across America to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations. Help us to seize the amazing opportunities for evangelism that You place all around us. Show me how I can join my brothers and sisters in Christ in using my time, talent, and treasure wisely and with a sense of urgency to reach the lost and build up Your church. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

—Matthew 28:19–20
